Meet the family

meet_the_familyWhatever age and gender you are and wherever you are from, you'll be welcome to join us. We've a real mix of people in our family, each bringing their own character to God's church.

This section of the website is full of age specific content, detailing what we have available for the Adults, our Young People and our children.

There are currently seven elders. They are appointed in accordance with The Fellowship's Constitution. Their primary responsibilities are governmental. For more information about the Elders and their roles visit the Governance and Management page.

The Eldership

Thom and Ruth Raller

Thom & Ruth Raller met in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) way back in 1974. Thom is from Miami, Florida, and Ruth is from Dunfermline, Scotland. They have three married children and nine grandchildren. They have planted churches in Dunfermline, Madrid and Inverness. They see their ministry together as “environmental architects” and find great joy in seeing people released into a culture of freedom that encourages people to simply follow Jesus.

James and Brenda Dunbar

James is from the Highlands, Brenda from England; they met in Inverness and were married in 1993. They have two children; one at High School and one Primary age.

James and Brenda have been a part of Kings since the early 1990s. They have been involved in various ministries in Kings including ten years of Youth work. James is currently one of the Elders and played an integral part in developing Life Groups. James and Brenda lead a Life Group and Brenda helps with the Children's work.

James is Chief Executive of New Start Highland and Brenda works for Relationships Scotland Family Mediation Highland.

Mike and Fiona Taylor

Mike and Fiona are originally from the Buchan coastal area of Scotland and were married in 1979. They have been part of King's since 1991. Mike worked in Further Education for over 22 years. He led the Worship Team for a good number of years and now oversees the PA team. Fiona was a Primary Teacher and has been on King's staff since 1996 when she took on the role of Church Administrator; she also deals with the daily finances of the ministry. Both are involved in various other areas of church life and are passionate about seeing people connect with God and getting connected into the Church family. Mike and Fiona have two beautiful grown-up girls and a handsome son-in-law.

Frank and Caroline Peacock

Frank and Caroline are founder members of Kings Fellowship and have watched with great interest how God has taken the church from its humble beginnings to where it is today, and we are also very excited about where God is taking us for the future.

Over the years we have been involved in various ministries within Kings and currently Frank is an Elder and has responsibility for overseeing church finances, Caroline serves on the connections team and Sunday baby fishes and together we lead a thriving life group.

We are now both retired (well almost),We have two daughters and four grandchildren and apart from church activities, family and friends take up a lot of our time along with keeping fit and Frank plays a mean round of golf!!!!

Mark and Catriona Hilditch

Originally from Glasgow, Mark and Catriona moved to Inverness in 2004. They have been married since 1993 and have three healthy energetic boys. Mark, when not out road cycling, works as a doctor at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Catriona is a primary school teacher. Both are involved in the Childrens' Ministry and the Worship Team. As a family they enjoy travel, friendship, music, good food, coffee and outdoor adventures.

Chris and Sarah Dowling

Chris and Sarah have been part of Kings Fellowship since 2002. They have been married since 2003 and have a young son. Chris works within his family glazing business and Sarah works part-time as a Community Staff Nurse. They enjoy spending time with friends; food often plays a major role in their spare time! As well as running a their own life group they have responsibility for overseeing and development of the other life groups within the church. Their vision is to see people come into relationship with Christ, respond dynamically to the leading of the Holy Spirit and deepen their relationships with each other.

Pete and Christine Lamont

Christine and I have been married for thirty years and we have four children, two in their twenties and two of Secondary school age. Our family roots are in the West Highlands although we both spent a number of years in the Central Belt. We moved to Inverness in 1993 at which time we became involved in Kings Fellowship. I took early retirement from the Police service in March 2010 and since September 2010 have been working in a part time capacity for Kings in the role of Service Manager. Prior to starting a family Christne worked in residential social work and now does sessional work as a Family Mediator.

Get involved in a Small Group or Service Group

cupcakesOur meetings together are different every time  - we share and discuss relevant biblical topics, we cover areas of parenting, marriage, worship, meals, listening to music, poetry, we laugh, cry and pray, we even pull the odd dance move (Ha ha!) - but in everything we do we leave feeling encouraged, inspired, lighter in our hearts, knowing that we are supported by each other.

dowlingsWe encourage people to get involved in a Life Group, it's all about sharing Life with each other and not having to go it alone.

helpingThis helps group is designed to be available for anyone needing assistance with gardening, moving house and any other odd jobs they are unable to for themselves (eg illness, circumstances, age etc). It is a small group consisting of the Lilley family with help from the Dowling Life Group and others as and when.

A daytime opportunity for women to meet together to meet together to deepen our love, understanding and application of God's word in our lives... and along the way to make some fab friendships and have a lot of laughs!

Most of us have our children with us, so don't let that put you off. However, don't come expecting a peaceful time! God has blessed us though as we have sought to grow, whilst juggling our responsibilities as mum's of young children!
